An additional lock makes sense when the existing door protection is not sufficient, for example in older entrances, after moving in, losing a key or an attempted break-in. However, greater security does not only depend on the number of locks, but also on the quality of the door, cylinder, door frame and professional installation, so sometimes the better solution is to replace existing components or strengthen the entire system.
